We started Predictiv MFG because the maintenance technology sold to heavy manufacturers was either too expensive, too complicated, or built by people who had never stood on a plant floor at 3am trying to figure out why a motor just tripped.
James O'Brien spent 14 years as a reliability engineer at automotive and steel facilities before founding Predictiv MFG. His experience was consistent: the plants with the best uptime records weren't necessarily using the best technology — they had the best information, and they acted on it early.
The challenge was that collecting good maintenance intelligence traditionally required expensive vibration analysis contractors, specialist equipment, and weeks of analysis time. By the time the report landed on a maintenance manager's desk, the bearing had either failed or the window to schedule the repair had already passed.
We built Predictiv MFG to make that information continuous, immediate, and cheap enough to put on every critical asset in the plant — not just the ones already on a formal condition monitoring program.
A system your maintenance team actually uses and trusts beats a theoretically superior one that requires a data scientist to interpret. Every design decision we make goes through the filter: "Will a reliability technician on a 12-hour shift find this useful?"
Production data is commercially sensitive. We designed from day one for on-premises operation — your failure data, production schedules, and equipment configurations stay inside your network unless you explicitly choose to share them.
Asking a plant to take a line down for sensor installation adds a capital cost that kills many projects before they start. Our sensors clip, band, or epoxy onto running equipment. The first data points are usually recorded before the technician has left the building.
We don't sell licenses and disappear. Our pricing includes a performance element tied to documented downtime reduction — if we don't deliver the numbers, you don't pay the full rate. That keeps us as invested in your uptime as you are.
